Thieves are reportedly using auction place eBay to sell stolen vehicles under the name of a lawful vehicle, the BBC has spotcheck .

Con artists- dubbed" scum of the earth" by one scapegoat- have scammed eBay purchasers out of thousands of pounds .
At least three vehicles in Greater Manchester were involved in the new con.
One victim, a retired police officer, was conned out of PS17, 000 to purchase a Mercedes from a dealer in Rochdale .

Former copper Graham Murray reported the accident to the police, but enunciates no action has been made. The crimes have still not been caught .

An eBay spokesman confirmed to the BBC that the accounts in question had been closed down and supplemented:" Cash on collection is very unusual and we would ask customers to always compensate via the pulpit when purchasing ."
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson alleged:" When we receive each of these reports of any incident, we assess the immediate threat, impairment and gamble to the public and allocate officers and natural resources accordingly .
" We do this with full consideration of all the contesting asks that we may be facing at that special go and a decision is then stirred on how to respond .
