Thieves are reportedly applying auction site eBay to sell plagiarized vehicles under the name of a lawful auto, the BBC has perceived .

Con artists- dubbed" scum of the earth" by one prey- have scammed eBay customers out of thousands of pounds .
At least three vehicles in Greater Manchester were involved in the new con.
One victim, a retired police officer, was conned out of PS17, 000 buying a Mercedes from a vendor in Rochdale .

Former copper Graham Murray reported the accident to the police, but articulates no action has been taken. The crimes have still not been caught .

An eBay spokesman confirmed to the BBC that the accounts in question had been closed down and contributed:" Cash on collection is very unusual and we were able to question buyers to always pay via the stage when purchasing ."
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman replied:" When we receive each of these reports of any incident, we assess the immediate threat, trauma and probability to the public and allocate patrolmen and natural resources accordingly .
" We do this with full consideration of all the contesting requests that we may be facing at that particular experience and a decision is then offset on how to respond .
