Thieves are supposedly use auction site eBay to sell stolen vehicles for the purposes of the name of a legitimate automobile, the BBC has felt .

Con creators- dubbed" scum of the earth" by one victim- have scammed eBay buyers out of thousands of pounds .
At least three vehicles in Greater Manchester were involved in the brand-new con.
One victim, a retired police officer, was conned out of PS17, 000 to purchase a Mercedes from a vendor in Rochdale .

Former copper Graham Murray reported the accident to the police, but mentions no measures have been made. The offenders have still not been caught .

An eBay spokesman confirmed to the BBC that the accounts in question had been closed down and supplemented:" Cash on collecting is very unusual and we would ask purchasers to always pay via the platform when purchasing ."
A Greater Manchester Police representative mentioned:" When we receive a report of any happen, we assess the immediate menace, evil and threat to the public and allocate policemen and natural resources accordingly .
" We do this with full consideration of all the emulating demands that we may be facing at that particular epoch and a decision is then made on how to respond .

Another victim was a man from Forfar in Tayside who was scammed out of PS18, 300 when buying a exercised BMW on the website.
