Thieves are allegedly squandering auctioneer website eBay to sell plagiarized vehicles under the identity of a legitimate gondola, the BBC has witnessed .

Con creators- dubbed" scum of the earth" by one casualty- have scammed eBay purchasers out of thousands of pounds .
At least three vehicles in Greater Manchester were involved in the brand-new con.
One victim, a retired police officer, was conned out of PS17, 000 buying a Mercedes from a seller in Rochdale .

Former copper Graham Murray reported the accident to the police, but pronounces no action has been taken. The crimes have still not been caught .

That follows when he found out private vehicles was plagiarized- there was little chance he could get his money back.

The scam is known as car cloning, which is a common approach of vehicle stealing.
The plagiarized vehicle is given the identity of a same lawful automobile, including licence sheets, framework numerals and accompanying documentation.

Two motorists were scammed out of over PS17, 000 each
Prospective purchasers can run a background check on the car and the details will appear to be correct.
An eBay spokesman confirmed to the BBC that the accounts in question had been closed down and added:" Cash on collecting is very unusual and we were able to expect buyers to always compensate via the programme when purchasing ."
A Greater Manchester Police representative answered:" When we receive each of these reports of any occurrence, we assess the immediate threat, harm and gamble to the public and allocate men and resources accordingly .
" We do this with full consideration of all the playing requires that we may be facing at that particular period and a decision is then cleared on how to respond .

Another victim was a man from Forfar in Tayside who was scammed out of PS18, 300 when buying a expended BMW on the area.
