eBay car scam- Thieves are conning motorists out of thousands online, here is how
CON ARTISTS are working eBay to sell cloned autoes and con customers out of thousands of pounds, a BBC investigation has noted .

Thieves are supposedly abusing auctioneer website eBay to sell stolen vehicles under the name of a legitimate auto, the BBC has found .

Con creators- dubbed" scum of the earth" by one victim- have scammed eBay buyers out of thousands of pounds .
At least three vehicles in Greater Manchester were involved in the new con.
One victim, a retired police officer, was conned out of PS17, 000 buying a Mercedes from a vendor in Rochdale .

Former copper Graham Murray reported the incident to the police, but mentions no measures have been taken. The wrongdoers have still not been caught .
Speaking to the BBC, Mr Murray responded:" The police have known about this organization since January .
" As a former police officer I'm absolutely disgusted. How can you have any trust in the police ?"

That follows when he found out private vehicles was plagiarized- there was little chance he had been able to get his money back.

The scam is known as car cloning, which is a common technique of vehicle theft.
The embezzled vehicle is given the name of a same lawful vehicle, including licence illustrations, chassis numbers and accompanying documentation.

Two motorists were scammed out of over PS17, 000 each
Prospective purchasers can run a background check on the car and the details will appear to be correct.
An eBay spokesman confirmed to the BBC that the accounts in question had been closed down and lent:" Cash on collect is very unusual and we were able to expect purchasers to always pay via the pulpit when purchasing ."
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson supposed:" When "weve received" a report of any incident, we assess the immediate threat, evil and peril to the public and allocate officers and resources accordingly .
" We do this with full consideration of all the vying requires that we may be facing at that particular season and a decision is then determined on how to respond .

Another victim was a man from Forfar in Tayside who was scammed out of PS18, 300 when buying a use BMW on the site.
Mr Alexander said he was " gutted" and named the con artists as" scum of the earth ."
