Thieves are allegedly utilizing auction website eBay to sell embezzled vehicles under the name of a lawful automobile, the BBC has procured .

Con masters- dubbed" scum of the earth" by one scapegoat- have scammed eBay purchasers out of thousands of pounds .
At least three vehicles in Greater Manchester were involved in the brand-new con.
One victim, a retired police officer, was conned out of PS17, 000 buying a Mercedes from a dealer in Rochdale .

Former copper Graham Murray reported the incident to the police, but says no measures have been made. The wrongdoers have still not been caught .

The scam is known as car cloning, which is a common procedure of vehicle stealing.
The plagiarized vehicle is given the name of a similar lawful automobile, including licence plates, chassis counts and accompanying documentation.

Two motorists were scammed out of over PS17, 000 each
Prospective buyers can run a background check on the car and the details will appear to be correct.
An eBay spokesman confirmed to the BBC that the accounts in question had been closed down and computed:" Cash on accumulation is very unusual and we were able to request buyers to always pay via the programme when purchasing ."
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson alleged:" When we receive each of these reports of any occurrence, we assess the immediate threat, ill and probability to the public and allocate detectives and natural resources accordingly .
" We do this with full consideration of all the contesting requirements that we may be facing at that special hour and a decision is then stirred on how to respond .

Another victim was a man from Forfar in Tayside who was scammed out of PS18, 300 when buying a consumed BMW on the area.
