Thieves are reportedly exercising auctioneer website eBay to sell plagiarized vehicles for the purposes of the name of a legitimate gondola, the BBC has attained .

Con creators- dubbed" scum of the earth" by one prey- have scammed eBay buyers out of thousands of pounds .
At least three vehicles in Greater Manchester were involved in the new con.
One victim, a retired police officer, was conned out of PS17, 000 to purchase a Mercedes from a marketer in Rochdale .

Former copper Graham Murray reported the accident to the police, but announces no measures have been made. The crimes have still not been caught .

That meant that when he found out the vehicle was embezzled- there was little chance he could get his money back.

The scam is known as car cloning, which is a common procedure of vehicle fraud.
The embezzled vehicle is given the identity of a similar legitimate vehicle, including licence layers, framework crowds and accompanying documentation.

Prospective customers can run a background check on the car and the details will appear to be correct.
An eBay spokesman confirmed to the BBC that the accounts in question had been closed down and supplemented:" Cash on collect is very unusual and we were able to expect buyers to always compensate via the pulpit when purchasing ."
A Greater Manchester Police representative remarked:" When we receive each of these reports of any incident, we assess the immediate menace, ill and probability to the public and allocate officers and natural resources accordingly .
" We do this with full consideration of all the participating requests that we may be facing at that special age and a decision is then compiled on how to respond .

Another victim was a man from Forfar in Tayside who was scammed out of PS18, 300 when buying a employed BMW on the area.
