An eBay spokesman confirmed to the BBC that the accounts in question had been closed down and included:" Cash on collect is very unusual and we would invite purchasers to always pay via the platform when purchasing ."
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman spoke:" When we receive each of these reports of any incident, we assess the immediate menace, evil and hazard to the public and allocate policemen and natural resources accordingly .
" We do this with full consideration of all the participating involves that we may be facing at that particular duration and a decision is then performed on how to respond .
