CON ARTISTS are expending eBay to sell cloned vehicles and con customers out of thousands of pounds, a BBC investigation has discovered .

Thieves are reportedly applying auction locate eBay to sell embezzled vehicles under the identity of a legitimate auto, the BBC has perceived .

At least three vehicles in Greater Manchester were involved in the brand-new con.
One victim, a retired police officer, was conned out of PS17, 000 to purchase a Mercedes from a dealer in Rochdale .

Two motorists were scammed out of over PS17, 000 each
Prospective customers can run a background check on the car and the details will appear to be correct.
An eBay spokesman confirmed to the BBC that the accounts in question had been closed down and included:" Cash on collection is very unusual and we were able to expect customers to always compensate via the platform when purchasing ."
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson read:" When "weve received" a report of any happen, we assess the immediate menace, harm and probability to the public and allocate policemen and natural resources accordingly .
" We do this with full consideration of all the emulating requisitions that we may be facing at that particular hour and a decision is then originated on how to respond .
