At least three vehicles in Greater Manchester were involved in the new con.
One victim, a retired police officer, was conned out of PS17, 000 buying a Mercedes from a dealer in Rochdale .

Former copper Graham Murray reported the incident to the police, but articulates no action has been made. The culprits have still not get caught .
Speaking to the BBC, Mr Murray read:" The police have known about this organization since January .

Prospective customers can run a background check on the car and the details will appear to be correct.
An eBay spokesman confirmed to the BBC that the accounts in question had been closed down and added:" Cash on collect is very unusual and we would query customers to always offer via the stage when purchasing ."
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson suggested:" When "weve received" a report of any incident, we assess the immediate threat, ill and gamble to the public and allocate men and resources accordingly .
" We do this with full consideration of all the vying involves that we may be facing at that particular day and a decision is then shaped on how to respond .

Another victim was a man from Forfar in Tayside who was scammed out of PS18, 300 when buying a squandered BMW on the area.
