CON ARTISTS are using eBay to sell cloned cars and con customers out of thousands of pounds, a BBC investigation has discovered .

Thieves are supposedly using auction site eBay to sell stolen vehicles under the identity of a lawful gondola, the BBC has observed .

Con artists- dubbed" scum of the earth" by one martyr- have scammed eBay purchasers out of thousands of pounds .
At least three vehicles in Greater Manchester were involved in the brand-new con.
One victim, a retired police officer, was conned out of PS17, 000 buying a Mercedes from a seller in Rochdale .

Former copper Graham Murray reported the incident to the police, but enunciates no measures have been taken. The wrongdoers have still not get caught .

The plagiarized vehicle is given the name of a similar lawful vehicle, including licence illustrations, framework digits and accompanying documentation.

Two motorists were scammed out of over PS17, 000 each
Prospective purchasers can run a background check on the car and the details will appear to be correct.
An eBay spokesman confirmed to the BBC that the accounts in question had been closed down and supplemented:" Cash on collect is very unusual and we would question purchasers to always pay via the pulpit when purchasing ."
A Greater Manchester Police representative suggested:" When we receive a report of any occurrence, we assess the immediate menace, impairment and likelihood to the public and allocate patrolmen and resources accordingly .
" We do this with full consideration of all the competing requires that we may be facing at that particular period and a decision is then stirred on how to respond .

Another victim was a man from Forfar in Tayside who was scammed out of PS18, 300 when buying a consumed BMW on the site.
