Thieves are supposedly working auction website eBay to sell embezzled vehicles for the purposes of the name of a lawful auto, the BBC has detected .

Con artists- dubbed" scum of the earth" by one martyr- have scammed eBay customers out of thousands of pounds .
At least three vehicles in Greater Manchester were involved in the new con.
One victim, a retired police officer, was conned out of PS17, 000 to purchase a Mercedes from a vendor in Rochdale .

Former copper Graham Murray reported the accident to the police, but remarks no action has been taken. The crimes have still not get caught .

Prospective customers can run a background check on the car and the details will appear to be correct.
An eBay spokesman confirmed to the BBC that the accounts in question had been closed down and added:" Cash on collect is very unusual and we were able to request purchasers to always offer via the pulpit when purchasing ."
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman suggested:" When "weve received" each of these reports of any occurrence, we assess the immediate menace, injure and risk to the public and allocate officers and natural resources accordingly .
" We do this with full consideration of all the emulating requests that we may be facing at that particular duration and a decision is then become on how to respond .

Another victim was a man from Forfar in Tayside who was scammed out of PS18, 300 when buying a use BMW on the area.
