CON ARTISTS are applying eBay to sell cloned autoes and con customers out of thousands of pounds, a BBC investigation has learnt .

eBay con artists are scamming motorists out of thousands of pounds online
Thieves are supposedly abusing auction locate eBay to sell plagiarized vehicles for the purposes of the name of a lawful car, the BBC has discovered .

Con artists- dubbed" scum of the earth" by one victim- have scammed eBay customers out of thousands of pounds .
At least three vehicles in Greater Manchester were involved in the new con.
One victim, a retired police officer, was conned out of PS17, 000 buying a Mercedes from a dealer in Rochdale .

Former copper Graham Murray reported the incident to the police, but responds no action has been made. The delinquents have still not been caught .
Speaking to the BBC, Mr Murray supposed:" The police have known about this organization since January .
" As a former police officer I'm absolutely disgusted. How can you have any trust in the police ?"

That follows when he found out private vehicles was plagiarized- there was little chance he had been able to get his fund back.

The scam is known as car cloning, which is a common method of vehicle stealing.
The plagiarized vehicle is given the identity of a same lawful automobile, including licence platefuls, framework digits and accompanying documentation.

Two motorists were scammed out of over PS17, 000 each
Prospective customers can run a background check on the car and the details will appear to be correct.
An eBay spokesman confirmed to the BBC that the accounts in question had been closed down and supplemented:" Cash on collecting is very unusual and we would ask purchasers to always pay via the programme when purchasing ."
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson answered:" When "weve received" each of these reports of any incident, we assess the immediate threat, mischief and danger to the public and allocate patrolmen and natural resources accordingly .
" We do this with full consideration of all the playing demands that we may be facing at that particular day and a decision is then concluded on how to respond .

Another victim was a man from Forfar in Tayside who was scammed out of PS18, 300 when buying a exploited BMW on the area.
Mr Alexander said he was " gutted" and named the con artists as" froth of the earth ."
