Thieves are allegedly applying auctioneer website eBay to sell stolen vehicles for the purposes of the name of a legitimate gondola, the BBC has learnt .

Con creators- dubbed" scum of the earth" by one martyr- have scammed eBay buyers out of thousands of pounds .
At least three vehicles in Greater Manchester were involved in the new con.
One victim, a retired police officer, was conned out of PS17, 000 buying a Mercedes from a vendor in Rochdale .
