Thieves are supposedly exploiting auction locate eBay to sell plagiarized vehicles for the purposes of the name of a lawful car, the BBC has acquired .

Con creators- dubbed" scum of the earth" by one scapegoat- have scammed eBay buyers out of thousands of pounds .
At least three vehicles in Greater Manchester were involved in the brand-new con.
One victim, a retired police officer, was conned out of PS17, 000 buying a Mercedes from a seller in Rochdale .

Former copper Graham Murray reported the incident to the police, but speaks no action has been taken. The delinquents have still not been caught .
Speaking to the BBC, Mr Murray alleged:" The police have known about this syndicate since January .

Prospective buyers can run a background check on the car and the details will appear to be correct.
An eBay spokesman confirmed to the BBC that the accounts in question had been closed down and contributed:" Cash on collection is very unusual and we would query buyers to always pay via the platform when purchasing ."
A Greater Manchester Police representative said:" When we receive a report of any occurrence, we assess the immediate menace, impairment and jeopardy to the public and allocate police and natural resources accordingly .
" We do this with full consideration of all the contesting requests that we may be facing at that special period and a decision is then obliged on how to respond .

Another victim was a man from Forfar in Tayside who was scammed out of PS18, 300 when buying a use BMW on the area.
