eBay con artist are scamming motorists out of thousands of pounds online
Thieves are reportedly employing auction place eBay to sell embezzled vehicles for the purposes of the identity of a lawful car, the BBC has noted .

Con artists- dubbed" scum of the earth" by one scapegoat- have scammed eBay purchasers out of thousands of pounds .
At least three vehicles in Greater Manchester were involved in the new con.
One victim, a retired police officer, was conned out of PS17, 000 buying a Mercedes from a seller in Rochdale .

Former copper Graham Murray reported the incident to the police, but suggests no measures have been made. The convicts have still not been caught .
Speaking to the BBC, Mr Murray suggested:" The police have known about this organization since January .
" As a onetime police officer I'm absolutely outraged. How can you have any trust in the police ?"

That meant that when he found out private vehicles was embezzled- there was little chance he had been able to get his money back.

The scam is known as car cloning, which is a common procedure of vehicle theft.
The stolen vehicle is given the identity of a similar legitimate car, including licence platefuls, framework crowds and accompanying documentation.

Two motorists were scammed out of over PS17, 000 each
Prospective buyers can run a background check on the car and the details will appear to be correct.
An eBay spokesman confirmed to the BBC that the accounts in question had been closed down and included:" Cash on collecting is very unusual and we were able to invite customers to always compensate via the programme when purchasing ."
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman pronounced:" When we receive a report of any happen, we assess the immediate menace, evil and risk to the public and allocate officers and natural resources accordingly .
" We do this with full consideration of all the vying expects that we may be facing at that special experience and a decision is then manufactured on how to respond .

Another victim was a man from Forfar in Tayside who was scammed out of PS18, 300 when buying a used BMW on the area.
Mr Alexander said he was " gutted" and named the con artists as" scum of the earth ."
